Hair Removal Pre-TREATMENT
Avoid deep tanning (tanning bed, tanning creams) 2
weeks before and after
the treatment. If you must go in the sun use a
sunscreen SPF 25 or higher.
If you are tan or have a darker skin type, a
bleaching regimen may be started 4-6
weeks before treatment.
It is not necessary to shave prior to coming in
for a treatment, except for men
with thick beards, in most cases we will
trim the hairs before the treatment.
It is recommended that you stop bleaching 2-3 days
before your procedure.
It is best that you refrain from tweezing or
waxing immediately, shaving or trimming
Immediately after treatment, there should be
redness and bumps at the treatment site,
which may last up to 2 hours or
longer. It is normal for the treated area to feel like
sunburn for a few
hours. You may use a cold compress if needed.
Makeup may be used after the treatment, just make
sure that you have moisturizer on
under your makeup. In fact,
moisturizer will help the dead hair exfoliate from the follicle
moisturizer frequently and freely on the treated area.
without alpha-hydroxy acids will work.
Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of dark or
light spots. Use sunscreen SPF 30
or greater at all times throughout the
course of treatment.
Do not use any other hair removal methods or
products on the treated area during the
course of your laser treatments
(tweezing, waxing and depilatories), as it will prevent
achieving your best results.
Anywhere from 5-30 days after the treatment,
shedding of the hair may occur and this
may appear as new hair growth.
This is not new hair growth, but dead hair pushing it's
way out of the
follicle. You can help the hairs exfoliate by taking a hot shower
rubbing with a washcloth or loofa sponge.
It is very important to follow the appointment
schedule established by you laser
practitioner for the optimum results
for your procedure.
